OTARA BIKE STUNTZ COMP 2019 & 2020

THE COMMUNITY BUILDERS TRUST

We were fortunate enough to be part of this amazing event alongside another local organisation 'The Community Builders Trust' who were the main organisers.

This event was put together for our bike youth enthusiasts in the Otara area, giving them a secure and safe space for them to demonstrate their skills with the winner taking away a cash prize + a brand new bike which was all sponsored and donated.

We are grateful for this initiative by 'The Community Builders NZ Trust' which is looking like an annual event which we have been involved with in 2019 & 2020 as part of the lead project management group, together coming up with framework, systems and engaging and liaising with the target market for this event.

OTARA FOOD BANK 2019 (COVID-19)

OTARA HEALTH CHARITABLE TRUST & ST VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY

Our management team an networks were instrumental in setting up this Food Bank in Otara in Alert Level 4 in March 2020 when Covid-19 hit the NZ shores.

With our strong relationships we had built over the years with St Vincent De Paul (SVDP), we were able to organise a temporary partnership with SVDP through March 2020 while we organised our own supply chain to get out Otara food bank up and running. SVDP were able to provide us two drops a week of parcels during this time until we were up and running.

Thanks to Empire Gym we were able to set up shop there while in alert level 4 and we later moved into East Tamaki Hall when levels dropped to 2, as the gym needed to re-open.

This project was later handed over to Otara Health Charitable Trust where one of our founders Tuava'a Lefono was working at the time, as they had the manpower, resources and funding to continue the amazing work which they continue to do so now.

From the month of April 2020 - December 2020, the Otara Food Bank has supported over 8,000 people during this time and continues to do so.
